Medicare Advantage and special needs

Medicare Advantage plans give you Part A, Part B, and Part D coverage in one. Special needs plans offer additional benefits depending on who the plan is targeting and what your health care or budgetary needs are and may include: dental, vision, transportation, credit to buy everyday health items, and more.

Supplemental Medicare plans

These plans are known as 5A plans, because for an affordable monthly premium they can allow you to go to any doctor, specialist or hospital, anytime, anywhere. The 5As are not connected to or endorsed by the US government or the federal Medicare program.

Prescription drug plans

Part D or prescription drug plans can help pay for most of the prescription drugs covered by Medicare. This plan can be used in conjunction with Original Medicare and with Medicare supplement insurance plans. You can also get Part D drug coverage from a separate Medicare prescription drug plan.

We work with the needs that arise for each different person. You can be under 65 and have Medicare and Medicaid. Also, those between the ages of 65 and 70 may be eligible for Medicare for the first time, or for Medicare with supplemental coverage.

We help you understand and guide you every step of the way.

HOW DO I SIGN UP?

If you are new to Medicare, have turned 65, retired, moved, qualified for assistance, or have another qualifying situation, you may be eligible to enroll in a plan 3 months before your date of birth or 3 months after it. You can always enroll during the Annual Enrollment Period, typically October 15 - December 7. Finally, you can enroll during the special election period that can be triggered by a life event, retirement, loss of income, death of spouse, or move out of the service area.

HOW CAN FINAL EXPENSES HELP ME?

Final expense insurance, as the name implies, helps to manage the final or funeral expenses of an insured. Under these plans, you must pay a fixed monthly premium and your insurance provider will pay for funeral-related expenses.

FREQUENT QUESTIONS

What is Medicare or Medigap Supplemental Insurance?

A Medicare supplement insurance policy (Medigap) can help pay for some of the health care costs that Original Medicare doesn't cover, such as when you travel outside the US, copays, coinsurance, and deductibles. If you have Original Medicare and you buy a Medigap policy, Medicare will pay its share of the Medicare-approved amount for health care costs. Then your Medigap policy pays its share.

¿Cómo me inscribo en un plan?

Have your red, white and blue Medicare ID card ready when you enroll. If you don't have such a card available, contact the Social Security Administration (SSA) at 469-777-2123 (TTY). Ask SSA for the name on your records and the effective dates of Medicare Parts A and B. Before you begin, make sure you have this information:

 - Postal Code

- Medicare number

 - Last name

-Date of birth

¿Qué es un plan de seguro complementario de Medicare?

A Medicare supplement insurance plan helps cover unpaid costs after Medicare Parts A and B pay their share of your health care expenses. Unlike a Medicare Advantage plan (which is an alternative to your Medicare Parts A and B benefits) you buy a Medicare supplement plan in addition to your Medicare Parts A and B benefits.

¿Qué son las Partes A y B de Medicare?

Part A covers inpatient hospital care or a limited stay in a skilled nursing facility. Part B covers outpatient hospital and medical services. The premium you pay for Part B is deducted from your Social Security benefits. Medicare pays for many health care services and supplies, but it does not cover all of your health care costs. For example, you pay a deductible for each hospital stay and coinsurance each time you use the services of a doctor or surgeon.
